Interior Materials and Products

Level 1 (beginner)

In the Interior Materials and Products course, students learn to analyze and specify interior furnishings, finish materials, and products taking into consideration functional, aesthetic, and maintenance needs.

For the projects displayed in this category, students were given floorplans and asked to create a design concept for a vacation home (A), a hotel suite (B), or a new restaurant (C). They were tasked with sourcing all the flooring, wall finishes, and furnishings to showcase the spaces. Inspirations and material boards are included to provide the client with a visual overview of the design intent. Students also developed material plans and specification sheets to identify all products in detail as well as a budget for each project.
