Interior Design Studio II

Level 2 (intermediate/ advanced)

In Interior Design Studio II, students explore the design process in commercial environments and develop design solutions for non-residential and mixed-use spaces. A problem-solving approach is emphasized.

This category showcases two design projects: Creative Office and Skybox. For the office project, students were asked to develop a profile of an Advertising Agency and design its new high-profile office located on the 14th floor of a luxury property in downtown Los Angeles. Students had to plan a vacant tenant space, develop a design concept, and visualize the reception and one of the workspaces by specifying FF&E, finishes, and materials and integrating the company’s brand.

For the Skybox project, students have been asked to design a luxury skybox for the CEO of a major music recording company. Two-level space at the stadium is for use by the company’s recording artists when they are in the area. The design objectives were to select the company’s musical style and incorporate its aspects into the design of the space, including the design of the logo and brand identity. Students prepared digital design presentations to explain design concepts and solutions.
